The First Joyful Mystery                                                                                            THE ANNUNCIATION                                     Spiritual Fruit: Humility                                             Our Father… 1.  The time for the Incarnation is at hand.  Hail Mary… 2.  Of all women God prepared Mary from her conception to be the Mother of the      Incarnate Word.   Hail Mary… 3.  The Angel Gabriel announces:     "Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with thee."  Hail Mary… 4.  Mary wonders at this salutation.  Hail Mary… 5.  The Angel assures her: "Fear not . . . you shall conceive in your womb, and give      birth to a Son."   Hail Mary… 6.  Mary is troubled for she has made a vow of virginity.  Hail Mary… 7.  The Angel answers that she will conceive by the power of the Holy Spirit, and her      Son will be called the Son of God.  Hail Mary… 8.  The Incarnation awaits Mary's consent.  Hail Mary… 9.  Mary answers: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to      your word."   Hail Mary… 10. The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.  Hail Mary… Glory be to the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who have most need of your mercy.
The Second Joyful Mystery
        THE VISITATION  Spiritual Fruit: Love of Neighbor                 Our Father…
1.  Mary's cousin Elizabeth conceived a son in her old age... for nothing is impossible      with God.   Hail Mary…   2.  Charity prompts Mary to hasten to visit Elizabeth in the hour of her      need.   Hail Mary…   3.  The journey to Elizabeth's home is about eighty miles requiring four or      five days.   Hail Mary…   4.  Though long and arduous, the journey is joyous, for Mary bears with her the      Incarnate Word.   Hail Mary…   5.  At Mary's salutation, John the Baptist is sanctified in his mother's      womb.   Hail Mary…   6.  Elizabeth exclaims: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of      your womb."   Hail Mary…   7.  "How have I deserved that the mother of my Lord should come to      me?"   Hail Mary…   8.  "Blessed is she who believed that the Lord's words to her would be      fulfilled."   Hail Mary…   9.  Mary replies: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, and my spirit finds joy      in God my Savior."   Hail Mary… 10. Mary serves her cousin in all humility for three months until the birth of John the      Baptist.   Hail Mary… Glory be to the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.         THE NATIVITY  Spiritual Fruit: Poverty of Spirit                 Our Father…
                                 1.  Joseph and Mary go to Bethlehem to comply with the decree of Caesar                                       Augustus.    Hail Mary…                                                                 2.  The hour for Mary to give birth is near, but there is no room in the inn.    Hail Mary…                                      3.  In the stillness of the night, the Savior is born in a cave, Mary remaining a            Virgin.    Hail Mary…                                    4.  She wraps Him in swaddling clothes and lays Him in a manger.    Hail Mary…                                    5.  In unspeakable joy Mary gathers to her bosom the Flower of her                                       virginity.    Hail Mary…                                    6.  Jesus enters the world in poverty to teach the lesson of detachment from earthly                                       things.    Hail Mary…                                    7.  The angel announces to the shepherds: "Today there is born to you in the town of                                      David a Savior, Who is Christ the Lord."    Hail Mary…                                    8.  The angelic chorus sing: "Glory to God in the highest, and peace to His people on                                       earth."    Hail Mary…                                    9.  The shepherds come to the stable to pay homage to the Infant Jesus.    Hail Mary…                                   10. The Magi come to adore the Holy Child and offer Him gifts.    Hail Mary…                              Glory be to the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now                              and ever shall be, world without end. The Fourth Joyful Mystery
        THE PRESENTATION  Spiritual Fruit: Purity of Mind and Body                 Our Father…
1.  Observing the law of Moses they take Jesus to the temple to present Him to the      Lord.   Hail Mary…   2.  According to the Law the firstborn male child of every family should be      consecrated to the Lord.   Hail Mary…   3.  Mary offers her Son to the Father, then ransoms Him back at the price paid by the      poor.   Hail Mary…   4.  Jesus is not subject to the law of Moses, yet to teach obedience, submits to it.   Hail Mary…   5.  Mary is not subject to the law of purification, yet in humility she submits to it.   Hail Mary…   6.  God had revealed to Simeon that he would not see death until he had seen the      Messiah.   Hail Mary…   7.  Recognizing the Child, he prays: "Now you can dismiss your servant in peace. You      have fulfilled your word."   Hail Mary…   8.  "This Child is destined to be the downfall and rise of many in Israel, a sign that will      be opposed."   Hail Mary…   9.  And to Mary Simeon reveals: "And your own soul a sword shall pierce."   Hail Mary…   10. After they fulfill all the Law requires they return to Nazareth.   Hail Mary…

The Fifth Joyful Mystery
   THE FINDING OF          JESUS IN       THE TEMPLE  Spiritual Fruit: Obedience                 Our Father…
 1.  When Jesus is twelve years old, He goes with His parents to Jerusalem for the       feast of the Passover.   Hail Mary…    2.  After the feast of the Passover, Joseph and Mary unknowingly set out for Nazareth      without Jesus.   Hail Mary…    3.  At the end of the first day's journey they discover Jesus is missing.   Hail Mary…    4.  His parents return immediately looking for Him.   Hail Mary…    5.  This loss causes grief and anxiety beyond our understanding to the hearts of Mary       and Joseph.   Hail Mary…    6.  On the third day they find Jesus in the Temple among the Doctors who were       astonished at His wisdom.   Hail Mary…    7.  Mary: "Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been searching       for You in sorrow."   Hail Mary…  8.  Jesus: "Why did you search for Me? Did you not know that I must be about My       Father's business?"   Hail Mary…    9.  Jesus goes down with them to Nazareth, and is subject to them.   Hail Mary… 10. Mary keeps all these things in her heart.   Hail Mary…

HAIL, HOLY QUEEN, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God. R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us pray. O GOD, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.
